A Busy Labor Day
Last Monday, Labor Day, we decided to take Morgan to the Tulsa Aquarium. I had taken her once before when she was about 10 months old but we had not been back since. That morning I finished a quick cake and then we were off. When we got to the aquarium we quickly realized that we had picked a bad day to visit since the parking lot was full and people were lined up out the door to get in. David, Morgan, Grammy, and I had met Uncle John and Aunt Lindsay there and we were undeterred by the crowd (at that point at least). Once we got inside we had to fight crowds of people and stand in more lines just to peek into the different exhibits. Morgan was completely overwhelmed by the crowds and was too distracted to enjoy the exhibits. We did a quick sweep of most of the exhibits but we did take our time watching the otters, beavers, raccoons, and stingrays. Morgan really liked the stingrays and wanted to climb into the tank. I thought Morgan would really enjoy the shark tunnel (a tunnel you walk through and the sharks swim all around you) but she was just too overwhelmed to pay much attention. We were there for about 20 to 30 minutes and Morgan was done and wanted to leave. Grammy made a pit-stop at the gift shop to get Morgan a few souvenirs and then we were off. I think I will take Morgan back in a couple of months on a week day when it is less crowded. After leaving the aquarium we drove over to the Riverwalk so Morgan could play in the fountains. Morgan has been to the Riverwalk several times with me shopping and to eat but she has only got to play in the kid fountains once. It was a beautiful day and Morgan was ready to burn off some energy : ) Morgan played in the fountains for a good half hour and would have played longer if we would have allowed her to. She had a blast and we all had a blast watching her.
