A Stressful Day
So today was crazier than usual. This morning we met with the Audiologist. She ran several test and determined that Morgan's left eardrum is non-responsive. So, we have to go back in a couple of weeks for more in depth hearing/ear testing. It looks like she might need tubes put in her ears. Then, later in the day, we had to go to see Dr. R, Morgan's pediatrician. The main purpose of this visit was to rule out another ear infection and to change her allergy medicine. The real scare of the day happened at dinner. Morgan was eating a hamburger and I was picking up toys. All of the sudden I heard a gasp and when I turned around to look I saw that Morgan was choking. It was a horrible feeling (even more so since I myself have been choked several times and needed to Heimlich). I immediately grabbed her and began doing the Heimlich Maneuver until she spit out a piece of hamburger. We were both in shock afterwards. I have never experienced such panic and I hope I never have the feeling again. I am so glad today is over and that Morgan is sleeping safely and soundly in her bed. I think we will be taking it easy tomorrow.
