The winter weather is here : ( As predicted, we got a mild dose of ice followed by a little snow. It all started Monday morning with freezing rain that lasted all the way until Tuesday afternoon. Then, Tuesday night we got a dusting of snow to top off our ice. Ever since the ice storm that hit in December of 2007 I get paranoid when ice is predicted. During that particular storm we lost power for a full week and the damage to the whole city was extensive. Luckily, this ice storm was mild (we only got 2 inches of ice and about an inch of snow) and we managed to keep power. Most of the town has been shut down for the past couple of days. David got stranded in the city on Monday and has not made it home yet. If all goes as planned he should make it home later this afternoon. This morning, I finally took Morgan out to play. The snow made the ice easy to walk on and the bright sunshine was even starting to melt some of it. Morgan had a blast knocking the icicles off anything she could reach. She told me she liked breaking the ice things : )
