Dallas Trip
Last weekend we took a short trip to Dallas. David's brother, Brad, and his wife, Robin, flew in from Boston for a christening and we thought it would be a great opportunity to get in a little reunion. David and I had not seen Brad and Robin in about 5 years and they had never met Morgan before. It has been tough to get together since we live in different parts of the country and have very busy schedules. The trip was great! I think we all had a nice time and we look forward to getting together more often. Morgan did great on the ride down. We put a new movie in the dvd player and she was satisfied for the majority of the car ride. On Saturday night, we picked up Brad and Robin at the airport and headed off to dinner. It turned into a bit of an ordeal because we went out the wrong exit from the airport and the GPS took us on about an hour loop around the city before we got back to the area we needed to be in. We ended up eating at David's favorite restaurant in all of Dallas, Pappadeaux. Every time we go to Dallas this is where David wants to eat. Since it was Valentines Day it was crowded but worth the wait. Morgan was so exhausted from the busy day that she actually (for the first time ever) fell asleep at the table. She was asleep before her dinner even came. The next day we took Morgan to the Rainforest Cafe for a late lunch. Morgan is such a huge animal lover that I knew this would be a big hit and I was right. We had about a 30 minute wait but Morgan used that time to explore the gift shop. Uncle Brad and Aunt Robin were nice enough to get Morgan a big stuffed elephant and a stuffed leopard toy. Morgan has played with her new animals all week! When we finally got seated we got a great table right by the elephants (one of Morgan's favorite animals). Morgan really enjoyed watching all the animals move and make noise and really wasn't even scared of the rainstorms. It was a great experience! We left to drive back home later that day and Morgan slept most of the way home. We have spent most of the week recovering and getting back on schedule : ) We look forward to many more fun Dallas weekends and more trips to see Uncle Brad and Aunt Robin.
