Zoo Day

David and I took Morgan to the zoo this weekend for some family time. She was feeling much better and had lots of energy to release. When we told her she was going to the zoo she started jumping up and down scream "yay, the zoo!" Then I told her we would leave as soon as daddy finished getting ready and she turned to him and said "hurry daddy, five minutes".
It has rained here all week and the day we went the weather felt more like March rather than May. It was overcast and 60 degrees. Of course, Morgan loved splashing in every puddle she could find. We rented a Jeep wagon for her to ride in and she rode about half the time and walked the other half. We made the rounds to all the animals, had lunch at the cafe, played at the playground, and went to the petting zoo. As usual, Morgan loved the elephants, polar bear, sea lions, and flamingos. Unfortunately, the train and carousel were closed due to the recent rain but nonetheless she had a blast. It was such a nice way to spend the afternoon : )
