Morgan's 3rd Birthday Party

My little girl is growing up so fast. As I mentioned in a early post, her birthday was last week on May 26th. On her actual birthday, my sister and I took her to Chuck E. Cheese. Morgan had a lot of fun. Then, I took her to Merritt's to pick out a decorated cookie. When David got home from work we allowed her to open a couple of presents including... a new pink purse, some personalized dishes, a stuffed dog, a car toy that her father picked out (HMMM?), and a new barbie big wheel tricycle (she has a radio flyer tricycle but it sits up high and tips over when she turns). We threw her a butterfly themed party this past Saturday and she loved it. This was the first year that she really grasped the whole party concept. She talked about getting cake and presents all week leading up to the party. I made two cakes for her party. I made her a butterfly shaped personal cake and then for the other guest I made a three tiered fondant covered butterfly garden cake. We a nice turn out of mainly family and a few close friends. Morgan got so many beautiful outfits and an overwhelming amount of toys, DVDs, and books. The party was a blast but I am so glad that it is over. It is a lot of work planning and making the cakes for a 3yr olds party : ) I am still trying to recover but it was so rewarding to see how happy and excited Morgan was.
