Sick During the Holidays
It seems like every time we have a holiday or big event I get sick. This Christmas has been no exception. Last weekend my face started breaking out in a rash that quickly spread until my whole face was covered from my eyes down. I waited until Monday and made an appointment at the doctor. When I went in I was feeling really bad and my face had only worsened. My temperature was 103, my joints hurt, and I had a headache. After some test my doctor came in to tell me the bad news... I have a MRSA staff infection. Apparently, this is the worst kind of staff because it is virtually antibiotic resistant, can be fatal, and highly contagious. Luckily, my doctor was nice enough to not admit me into the hospital for the holidays but if my fever doesn't go away by Friday then I will have to be admitted. I have been put on three types of antibiotics twice a day, and I have to wear a mask and gloves. Right after I found out what I had, I had my mom take Morgan to the pediatrician and sure enough she also had the early symptoms of MRSA. She had one small bump on her chin but the doctor put her on antibiotics and thinks she will be okay. So far, David has been lucky and has no symptoms. Always something in the Talley house.
