October is Almost Over!?!?

We are still here : ) It seems like October is always such a busy month for us but we've been having fun! Morgan has really enjoyed getting back into the swing of things (the newness of Carson has worn off). Earlier this month, Papa Clint got to come to town for a visit. Since he lives in New Jersey we don't get to see him as much as we'd like but we always have a great time when he comes to visit. Papa brought Morgan a new Dr. Seuss book and has now topped her list of favorite books. David and I always read Morgan a book or two every night before bed and despite literally having well over a hundred books she seems to pick the same few every night. We try to throw in a different one from time to time but we never get to leave the room without reading one of her favorites. So now her new book from Papa Clint has made the favorites list : ) We also made it to the fair this month even though we initially said we weren't going. It was the last day of the fair and we ended up having a free day so we decided to go. We got a babysitter for Carson, bundled Morgan up (it was really cold), and fought the crowd. Morgan had a lot of fun seeing all the animals. She was also fascinated by the slingshot ride and kept telling us she wanted to ride that. Looks like we are going to have a daredevil. We tried to coax her into riding some of the kiddie rides but she refused. Of course, we ate lots of junk food. Yum : ) The fair was fun but that night Morgan woke up throwing up and running a temp of 102. So the next day we were at the pediatrician and after being tested for the flu and strep it was determined she had a virus. Last weekend was Jackson's (our nephew/Morgan's cousin) first birthday party! I can't believe he is already one! The party was fun, Jennifer got a ball pit for the kids to play in and Morgan loved it. The theme was stars and lots of bright colors. I made the cake and Jennifer made lots of candies and cookies. Unfortunately, I did not get to stay as long as I wanted to because Carson had a stuffy nose and wasn't too happy. I took him home early but Morgan got to stay and enjoy the party. Morgan has really been excited about Christmas this year (yes, I know it is only October). It all started one day when a commercial for a toy came on the TV and she said "I want that" and I told her we would put it on her Christmas list and send it to Santa. Well, I started something because she wants me to add things to her list to Santa constantly. Every time a new toy commercial comes on she says "mama I need you to add that to my Christmas list". If I were adding everything the list would be a mile long! So, last Sunday afternoon, David and I decided to take her to Toys'R'us to work on her Christmas list. We wanted to see what was out there and wanted to see what toys she really showed an interest in there in person. Morgan got so into it every time she found a toy she liked she would yell "mama did you get this one on the list". We had fun looking at all of the toys and Morgan got a Snow White (her new obsession) book for being such a good girl. We are all excited about Halloween tomorrow. I asked Morgan several weeks ago what she wanted to be for Halloween and she immediately said a cowgirl. So we found the costume and she is so excited to get to wear it tomorrow. Carson has two costumes and we haven't decided which one he is going to wear... one is a dalmatian and the other is Tigger from Winnie the Pooh. I'm sure the next post will be all about our Halloween night with lots of pictures. Until then here are a couple of pictures from the last few weeks.
