4th Of July Weekend

We had a great long holiday weekend. David had Friday off and we were able to enjoy a lot of quality family time. Our long weekend started on Thursday night when we did family movie night. This is something new we have been trying to do every couple of weeks with Morgan and it has been a big hit. We let her pick out a movie, get lots of snacks, pop popcorn, and pile on the couch. Morgan picked out Kung Fu Panda on Thursday and loved it. All weekend she would randomly start dancing and tell us she was doing a Kung Fu dance : ) We spent most of Friday shopping and running errands. Morgan got to spend Friday night with Nonnie and Papa. David and I went to John's house for dinner and then got to go out on the lake in the boat to watch fireworks. It was such a nice relaxing night. Saturday, the 4Th, it was pouring rain when we got up. We picked Morgan up, went out to lunch, and then headed to Kaleidoscope Children's Hands on Museum. Morgan had a blast. She loved dancing in the black light room, playing in the grocery store, planting in the garden, and singing on stage. By the time we left the rain had stopped but Morgan was exhausted. We decided to cancel our plan to take Morgan down to Freedom Fest on the River but we did stop a pick up a few of our own fireworks at a stand on the way home. We did not get anything loud on account of Morgan's reaction to the loud firecrackers last year. That evening we cooked out and set off our fireworks early. Morgan watched the PBS fireworks special with the Sesame Street characters and then we went outside and watched the neighborhood fireworks display. It was amazing! Morgan loved the big fireworks and wasn't even bothered by the noise! Ever since the 4Th Morgan has asked when she gets to watch the fireworks again : ) On Sunday, we did our usual church/lunch routine followed by a little shopping. By that afternoon we were all so exhausted that we did nothing but relax. It was such a wonderful weekend! I am sad to report that I did not take very many pictures over the weekend. The only pictures I have are of Morgan playing at Kaleidoscope.
